There are five handwritten letters in this folder from 1905.
The first letter is from H.J. Anderson to "Mr. President" (F.P. Fleming) dated September 2, 1905. Anderson is grandson of Judge Samuel J. Perry and he mentions how Perry came to Florida, was an early surveyor, and fought in the Indian wars. He started to write his memoirs before he died and it would be of interest to FHS
One letter reads New Smyrna, Fla. Oct. 20, 1905. It is from B.F. Chilton writing on behalf of W.E. Connor of Ronnoc Grove to the Florida Historical Society at Jacksonville Public Library. Letter concerns donation of some relics of New Smyrna to FHS. W.E. Connor was the husband of Jeanette Thurber Connor.
The last 3 letters are titled Madison, Fla. and date from January and November 1905 to Henry Flemming. The writing is rather illegible, but mentions Judge Perry and the Florida Historical Society.
