2 letters from Stephen Russell Mallory Jr. re: formation of the Florida Historical Society. Both letters on on United State Senate letterhead with Washington D.C. crossed out and Pensacola written in. In 1902 Mallory was still in the US Senate.
Letter 1 is dated November 10, 1902 and is one sheet addressed to George W. Wilson in Jacksonville. He supports the idea of founding FHS and would like to be a member but not sure he can make it to the organizational meeting on the 25th in Jacksonville..
Letter 2 is dated also from Pensacola on November 22, 1902 stating he will not be able to make it to the meeting and promises his support.
