Typescripts of 2 letters describing St. Augustine in the 1570's. Both letters excerpted from the St. Augustine Historical society. First letter is 3 pages, written by Dr. Caceres of Havana written 11/1574. Second letter is 8 pages written Alvaro Flores de Quiones, visitor in 1578 to report to the King. Letter describes the fort and artillery in great details--lists muncitions, food and muskets. |
